In 2016 after years much encouragement Marie Lot decided to start sharing her artwork online, "My Boyfriend had been pushing me to "Do something" with my art.  He said I needed to display it, get rid of it, stop doing it, but I needed to stop shoving it in the corners, because there were no corners left in our home".  She stopped painting for a while, but she couldn't give it up, so she hung in up in a spot that no one would notice. However, someone did, and has her boyfriend had been nudging her, they also gave a little push.  "I started posting my work here and there on my Facebook account, and I was getting some positive feedback, but I didn't know what I was doing, I wasn't marketing myselfand I still wasn't confident."  In 2017 Marie was contacted to join a Christmas bazaar "It was really cheap, like $25, no show is that cheap.  I didn't have anything to display my stuff, I had never done this before, I was completely unprepared, and didn't know what I was doing.  I used the stairs to display my work".  She wasn't expecting much, but she told 4 paintings that day, and it gave her the confidence to keep going.  That holiday season Marie did 6 shows, selling more at each show, but then the holiday ended. After several months, she realized that she needed a new strategy, so she started hard calling local business' she thought she could team up with. A recurring question Marie was being asked at her events was "How do you do this" her answer was simple, pick-up a phone and ask, but she realized that like her most people didn't know where or how to start, and they needed someone to help them.  "I called my comapany A Journey In Art because art was apart of me, and it's always been there, helping me deal with what I am experiencing, but one day I realized this wasn't about my journey, this was about the journey of the rising artist, all artists".  So, in 2018 A Journey In Art hosted it's first event for local artist.

"It's not just my journey, but the journey of the artist and their growth. It goes beyond the person, into an idea. "
